The Last Two years is a series begun in 2012. The artist's beloved mother had died. He wanted to process the rollercoaster of grief by painting a face a day. The cathartic practice proliferated a community of expressive faces populating his studio and became a comforting congregation. In total there are 244 4x4 inch paintings. Many have sold but 66 remain available. Hansel + Gretel is tangential in that it is one of several enlarged… versions at 36 inches square.
