About this artwork
The artist found this polyantha rose in a Dutch cottage garden. The artist is enthusiastic about the nuances from yellow to apricot to orange against a dark background. Directly on site, she translates what she has seen into light and color with her oil paints. There is hardly any rework in the studio.

Sibylle Bross, an award-winning painter and draftsman who resides in Germany, has exhibited nationally as well as in Russia. Having previously focused on the figurative, landscapes have increasingly played an important role in her works. In addition to working on larger compositions in the studio, Bross also travels and plein air paints. She translates her interpretation of the landscape into light and color with oils on canvas.
