About this artwork
A quiet corner near my home in Fellerich, lightly covered with snow, reveals a delicate interplay of branches, ground, and soft winter light. Trees and shrubs form a natural enclosure, their lines interwoven into a subtle, almost rhythmic structure. A simple gate appears within this setting—quiet, unobtrusive, suggesting both boundary and passage.
The scene does not present itself immediately. It unfolds through attention, through the relationships… between textures, lines, and the quiet presence of winter.
This work is part of my ongoing Near Home series, where I return repeatedly to familiar surroundings, observing how small changes in season and atmosphere transform even the most ordinary places.
My approach remains minimal and attentive. Rather than altering the scene, I refine what is already present—balancing tones, clarifying textures, and preserving the natural atmosphere. The intention is not to dramatize, but to allow the image to emerge with its own quiet rhythm.
