Captured near the Saar River, not far from the famous Saarschleife, this photograph belongs to my Near Home series—a body of work created through attentive observation of places that reveal their character gradually rather than immediately.
From above, the river winds through a landscape shaped by water, rock, forest, and time. Snow softens the contours of the hills, while dark evergreen stands create a quiet counterpoint to the pale winter slopes.… The river itself becomes a unifying presence, linking the elements into a single flowing gesture across the landscape.
Rather than seeking dramatic spectacle, the image invites a slower encounter with place—an appreciation of subtle rhythms, seasonal transitions, and the enduring dialogue between nature and time.
