About this artwork
Inside Cologne Cathedral, a sculpted figure rests in shadow while soft light filters through patterned glass behind it. The luminous geometry of the window contrasts with the still, silent presence of the form, revealing only contours—face, hands, and the gentle curve of the body.
The image unfolds through restraint. Much remains unseen, allowing light to define what is essential. Texture and detail emerge gradually, inviting a slower, more attentive… gaze.
This work is part of my exploration of architectural spaces, where light, material, and time converge. Rather than documenting the monument, I focus on moments where structure becomes quiet presence.
Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth paper, preserving deep blacks and delicate highlights.
