About this artwork
I painted this work as an explosion of movement and contrast. As I created it, I felt the blue and yellow collide and blend, like two opposing energies seeking space on the same surface. My brushstrokes moved quickly, sometimes impulsive, sometimes more controlled, leaving traces that resemble scratches, wind trails, cracks of light.
Within these lines lies my tension: a struggle between calm and storm. The cold tones create a sort of unstable horizon,… while the darker strokes break it, as if something wants to emerge or escape. I didn't want to represent a specific place, but an energy: a vibrant landscape, a city that appears and dissolves, an impulse I can't contain.
I painted this canvas to freeze a movement, yet leave it alive. Every time someone looks at it, that force starts pulsating again.
Silvana Di Vora, a self-taught artist, uses watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and scrap materials to create works brimming with light and movement. She experiments with figurative and abstract art, using rapid brushstrokes and intense monochromes, highlighting the three-dimensionality and luminosity of unexpected details. Her works, often melancholic and dynamic, convey that even from darkness, the most intense light and vibrant color can emerge, instilling vitality and hope in the viewer.
