About this artwork
In this painting, I wanted to capture the essence of a face without over-defining it. It doesn't matter whether it's a man or a woman—what matters is the emotion that emerges from the fusion of colors and gestures. I let the thick, irregular brushstrokes construct a face that seems to emerge from the shadows, like a blurred memory or an emotion taking shape.
Blue, red, and yellow intertwine and collide, creating an energy that vibrates between chaos… and harmony. The violent black lines cut through the space, yet still allow the eye to recognize eyes, nose, and mouth—traces of an identity that is not fully revealed.
It's an inner face, perhaps mine, perhaps that of the viewer. A symbol of human ambiguity and complexity, where each color represents a different nuance of the soul.
