About this artwork
"Uno se embarca hacia tierras lejanas, indaga la naturaleza, ansia el conocimiento de los hombres, inventa seres de ficcion, busca a Dios. Despues se comprende que el fantasma que se perseguia era Uno-Mismo", Ernesto Sabato (escritor argentino). Autorretrato. De la serie "Luz" Fotografia tomada en mi living un dia de enero de 2026. Vi la luz que caia sobre en piso y me invito a realizarla. Fue la primera que realice de esta serie. En esta obra quise…
capturar la intimidad y la vulnerabilidad a través del juego de luces y sombras en blanco y negro. Cada rayo de luz acaricia la piel, creando un contraste que refleja la fragilidad y la fuerza humana. Mi intención es que esta imagen transmita serenidad y profundidad, llenando el espacio con una energía tranquila pero poderosa.

Silvina Batista (Argentina, 1973) is a contemporary fine art photographer whose work explores identity, inner states, and symbolic landscapes through stages of photography and poetic self-portraiture.
Rooted in a conceptual approach, her practice uses the body as a narrative device, constructing images that oscillate between presence and absence, intimacy and distance. Her photographs evoke silent atmospheres, where light, gesture, and space become carriers of emotional and symbolic meaning.
Batista's work has been exhibited in Argentina and internationally. Her artistic book of self-portarits is part of the permanent collection of The Center Ceramique Library in Maastricht, the Netherlands. She has been recommended by Singulart Gallery for presentation to galleries participating in Paris Photo, reinforcing the international projection of her work within the contemporary photography scene.
She currently lives and works in Argentina.
