About this artwork
Masks and tribal makeup tell stories and cultural information sometimes as a social marker, while my work summarizes the simplicity of a sign and a color in full freedom.
Free to be.
The celebration of imperfection as the uniqueness of the human being, in deliberate contradiction with the social belonging to which symbols and shapes painted on the face and body often refer.
Plaster, stucco, volume paste and acrylics create the second conceptual… work dedicated to the freedom of being.
Simona Bencivenga, born in 1975. Roman artist graduated from the Institute of Cinematography and Television Roberto Rossellini. From his advertising training he arrives at painting, his great passion, through the study of the great masters and reproductions. He studies various artistic techniques such as; oil, acrylics, tempera, graphite, pastels, watercolor and ink. He specializes in portraits with which he participates in various exhibitions, winning the first prize of the Vernissage "Le notti Felliniane". He creates a work, portrait of a famous sculptor, for the cover of a book. Today his identity is no longer only figurative, it leads him towards the research and study of form and matter. Some representative works of this new path are found at the Gasometer Urban Suites, in the Ostiense district of Rome, where, again in the Gasometer area, he creates his first mural "Anima Urbana". He exhibits during events at the Borgo Pio Art Gallery in Rome.
