About this artwork
On the occasion of an event in honor of Federico Fellini, I decide to pay homage to him with the portrait of one of the icons of our cinema, Anna Magnani.
The portrait of Anna Magnani because it will be her last film appearance in 1972, in the film "Roma" by maestro Fellini. From this my work will take its title. The portrait derives from the study of two different photos, one of a young age and the other of a more mature age. This certainly gives… her an unusual expression with deliberately large, intense and smiling eyes but at the same time melancholy and distrustful like her soul, so authentic and profound.
I sought a strong impact strengthened by the material preparation of the canvas worked with a spatula, with plaster, modeling paste, pumice, iridescent and acrylic pigments.
On the occasion of the "Notti Felliniane" vernissage, my work will be proclaimed the winner of the first prize by the Area Contesa gallery in via Margutta in Rome.

Simona Bencivenga, born in 1975.
Roman artist graduated from the Institute of Cinematography and Television
Roberto Rossellini. From an advertising background, he moved on to painting, his great passion, through the study of the great masters and reproductions. He explored various artistic techniques, including oil, acrylics, tempera, graphite, pastels, watercolor, and Indian ink. He specialized in portraits, with which he participated in several exhibitions, winning first prize at the Vernissage "Le notti Felliniane." He created a work, a portrait of the sculptor Camille Claudel, for the cover of Annalisa Fabbri's book. Today, his identity is no longer purely figurative, leading him to the research and study of form and material. Some representative works of this new path are located at the Gasometer Urban Suites, in Rome's Ostiense district, where, also in the Gasometer area, he created his first mural, "Anima Urbana," on Via dei Magazzini Generali.
