About this artwork
It is a three-dimensional relief sculpture-panel depicting a central octopus, stylistically lifelike but with a strong pictorial charge. Formal observation:
Form and composition: octopus seen from the front, with a rounded body at the top and numerous tentacles extending vertically and curving into space; composition concentrated in the center of the panel.
Materials and technique (estimated): Modeled relief painted on a glossy rigid support (resin/gloss… varnish), with enamels or high-gloss colors; the eyes and suckers are highlighted with very defined highlights and shadows. Color and surface treatment: Deep red dotted with white on the mantle and tentacles; lighter suckers with violet hues. Glossy black background isolates the figure and amplifies the color contrast. Texture and light: Glossy, wet surface reminiscent of a marine habitat; realistic detail on the suckers and tentacle folds, rendered with specular reflections and shadows.
