About this artwork
This work was produced in collaboration with the model Kurvsy, who stages herself by representing the woman in a powerful and sensual way, here bare breasts subtly concealed by two glasses of champagne on a silver tray. It is a collage on wooden canvas painted with the graffiti background that characterizes the work of Socrates, all frozen and smoothed by an epoxy resin that protects, seals and enhances the whole piece.

« I did graffiti in the street for years, and I wanted to extend that into my paintings, adding a touch of femininity that characterizes me. »
Socrate is an artist based in France whose paintings have been featured in several solo exhibitions nationally. She describes her artistic practice as being marked by contrasts, which include black and white, "the rough and variegated side of graffiti, as well as the softness of images and femininity". Socrate's vibrant works are primarily created using spray paint, markers, gold leaf, and glitter, most of her pieces are finished with epoxy resin.
