About this artwork
In the foreground, a vacuum cleaner catches fire; symbol of the oppression of women, this is expected to be condescending, submissive, docile and tolerant. A lot is always demanded of her, both concretely and spiritually, she must have a high moral, nobility of soul and other too deeply rooted clichés.
The landscape becomes a representation of the feminine spirit, soft, delicate, but full of energy that explodes in lapilli, fire, ash and dust. An… eruption from the bowels of the earth so strong as to reach the sky and thus manifest all the impetus that for centuries has remained unexpressed, so the never complete revenge of the debased, oppressed woman is a victim of injustice
