About this artwork
I remember when as a child my father took me to say the rosary with the elders of the neighborhood. For me it was mortal boredom and torture to hear all those mumbled and badly sung prayers. However there was always a part of the Salve Regina prayer that struck me: "in this valley of tears". I found this sentence in this painting, but only after the work was already finished. There are things we have known for a long time but we are not always aware…
of them and sometimes creating a painting reveals them to your eyes.
In this work there is a six-legged wolf crying and the tears go to create a lake. I wanted to transport a part of the invisible into the painting, that is, all those painful emotions we have experienced, such as suffering, a sense of marginalization and loneliness. I believe that suffering cannot be avoided, but I think that one can choose how to deal with it; my way is to make the invisible visible.
