About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the emotional complexity between fragility and strength. I used materials like tar and wax to add texture and symbolism, creating a contrast between softness and rawness. The figure represents a moment of introspection, while the yellow and dark tones envelop the scene with an intense and enveloping energy.
Sol Halabi
United States
Sol Halabi's work fuses the figurative realism of the female face with experimental techniques: oil, pigments, waxes, marble dust, and gold leaf applied in an alchemical process. Her pieces inhabit a threshold between reality and dreamlikeness, evoking a contemplative, intimate, and ambiguous atmosphere. Each work invites us to pause, to connect with the essence and mystery of humanity.
