The cougar is a cat of many names, and although a worthy opponent, it’s prowess can be overshadowed by other predators such as bears, wolves and jaguars. The cougar’s placement in the predator-prey hierarchy accurately mirrors the Mercury Cougar’s own position. Historically, it has been considered second to the always imposing Ford Mustang.
The tiger is one of Asia’s greatest predators… yet also one of the most endangered, as its population and habitat are under attack. In the automotive world, the Sunbeam Tiger’s existence has also been threatened, as it appeared and disappeared from production in the blink of an eye.
A black panther is not a unique species of cat- rather, it is the melanistic variant of a leopard or a jaguar. Fortunately for the Pantera, tall dark and handsome never goes out of style, and its rarity only adds to its cool factor.
