About this artwork
In this work, I explored the depths of raw and primitive expression through acrylics and felt, capturing an almost childlike emotional exuberance. The shapes and symbols evoke archetypes, dialoguing on the simplicity and complexity of our perceptions. Each element draws towards an introspection, where the gaze is invited to dance between reality and imagination, stimulating a sense of liveliness and mystery in each space it inhabits.
Stéphane Hozer
France
Born in 1972 in the Loire, son of a knowledgeable designer, at 6 years old he watched his father paint in the cellar throwing paint on rotating trays equipped with washing machine motors, fascinated he kept this in a corner of his head all his life.
In 1992 he went to Paris, it was the time of graffiti on the walls along the railway lines. He looks, contemplates, records and begins his first sketches. At the age of 27 he began his artistic apprenticeship, deepening his knowledge and his practice. At the age of 45 he met Anna R, a painter with whom he formed a relationship. He then decided to pick up paintbrushes again, strong from his influences and his appetite for art.
His work then becomes more precise and the gesture safer. His works then take on a whole new dimension with a personal, historical, artistic message...
Messages that make his paintings deep, intriguing and even hypnotic where primitive heads and ancient characters mingle
