About this artwork
Beige symbolizes the territory of history, culture, the "activism" of man, his trace; blue is the space of the idea and the spiritual, of the origin of everything, of that which frees itself from spatiotemporal constraints, it is the cosmos. We are connected to these polarities that animate us, underpin our existence. In the middle, the infinity of possibilities, us, insignificant perhaps but creators all the same.
In this painting, I sought to… capture the essence of the ephemeral and the intangible. The use of acrylic, chalk, ink and pigments allows for a rich dialogue between matter and transparency. My expressionism delves into the metaphysical, evoking the invisible presence of time. The minimalism of the composition invites contemplation; its shades of deep blue and bursts of pure white bring a calming and inspiring energy to any space.
Stéphane Meier, trained in architecture, was passionate about various forms of art, devoting himself mainly to painting. He uses mixed media to create poetic visual scenes, manipulating coatings, pigments, inks and acrylics using different application methods. Superimposing layers, he seeks to create depth through transparency, representing the metamorphoses of time. Meier's works are introspective, he creates portals to memory, inviting the expression of emotions, revealing the spiritual texture of matter.
