Stan has always drawn the human figure and finds great pleasure in revisiting the figure from time to time in various mediums. In this beach related image he uses the broad side of the charcoal to give a very quick impression of a woman enjoying the warm rays of the sun. The woman is in a seated position stretching slightly to meet the sun in a kind of embrace for the warmth. Seeing her we can share in the beautiful feeling.
