About this artwork
This is a part of a series named Anti-subject, a critique on the mass-produced photography on social media primarely. Aesthetically it's not ment to be beautifull, it does not impress. It's void of concept is it's concept.
The process opf high-contrast manipulation evokes the traditional darkroom process when thru successive copying of the enlarged photography you begin to lose detail and tonal width. For me, the result is a graphical approach on… photography, an emphasis of shapes, lines and points. I also think that this level of detail has a surreal feel to it, even if the image becomes harder to read.
