About this artwork
The image was taken in an old forest in East Germany and shows a majestic oak tree in winter. The wooded area was part of a former Russian barracks in Berlin. It was shot on 4x5 inch film and negative. What's special is the "scanning technique," which is very striking in its rawness, reduced to a yellow monotone.
