About this artwork
The University Hospital of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich is located in the quarter Grosshadern and was opened in 1973. The form language of the architectural group Schwethelm, Schlempp and Eichberg is also evident in details of indoor facilities like window grating, lockers, or ceiling lamps. Despite its timeless toaster-design, the building will be demolished in about 15 years and replaced by a new five-level construction.

I was born in Munich, Germany. After studies of medicine, I was for many years the head of Spinal Neurosurgery at the Neurosurgical Clinic of the University of Munich (LMU). Since 2019 I am working as a neurosurgeon in own practice in Munich. Since many years I am engaged in photography, especially in composite photoworks, com-posings. My series treat themes, I am facing daily, as my former workplace in the University Hospital of Munich, subway stations and scenes of Munich, and the ways and streets, we are moving on.
All images are established from high resolution files for large formats and highest demands on exposure of details. The prints are offered in various formats and limited edition sizes on Aludibond behind glass.
