About this artwork
The image shows a woman partially covered in gold leaf, looking directly into the camera in a calm, frontal pose. Her damp, dark hair creates a mystical atmosphere. The blurred background, in earthy green and brown tones, draws the focus to the woman, whose body is accentuated by the gold leaf.
The use of gold leaf adds a deeper symbolic layer to the image. The precious, fragile material contrasts with the natural transience of the human body.… It is reminiscent of alchemical or spiritual transformations, where the body seems almost sacred or sublime through the touch of gold. At the same time, the gold leaf, similar to skin, is thin and fragile, emphasizing the fragility of the moment.
Original Polaroid as a photo print on metallic UltraHD paper.
Scanned photo in 24x24 cm format.
With wooden frame in black (25.5x25.5 cm).
