In the work "Torso #191017/1301" the female body unfolds as an abstract sculpture of light and shadow.
The sensual curvature of the torso is highlighted by targeted lighting, while the contrast between light and dark surfaces simultaneously reveals and conceals the forms.
By radically limiting the image to sections of the body, it eludes clear identification and transforms the nude into a study of pure form.
The composition plays with the boundary… between figuration and abstraction, rendering the body not only as a physical presence but also as a visual enigma. The title suggests a questioning of the perception of physicality and identity—a haunting reflection on what we think we recognize and what eludes our gaze.
Photo print on baryta paper in the format 50x75 cm (with white border).

Stephan Joachim works in painting, photography and conceptual art and in the theater as a director, stage and costume designer. He has been taking photographs since he was six years old. In recent years, his work has become more artistic, ushering in a new era of style: his work is influenced by nude elements from fine art. He developed a style that combines photographs with paint, gold leaf, shellac, and more. His themes are rooted in fairy tales and legends, creating captivating artistic expressions. His works touch the heart and capture the emotions of the viewer.
His work was awarded at Best Of Photovogue in 2016 and 2018 and he has participated in many exhibitions (including in Lübeck, Munich and Wiesbaden as well as several times at the ARTe art fairs). He has been published in many program books and in the latest issue of "Normal Magazine".
