About this artwork
This painting is inspired by the dunes of Zeeland, where I was completely overwhelmed by the enchantment of the shifting light. The play of colors and atmosphere left such an impression on me that I wanted to translate not only what I saw, but how it felt. I began with a red acrylic underlayer, which adds warmth and depth, and then built up the surface in oil paint. The image became a transformation of memory, less a literal record of the landscape,…
