About this artwork
This painting was inspired by my search for a balance between abstraction and figuration. While creating it, I wanted to keep the forms loose and abstract, yet still reveal just enough to recognize a woman and child sitting together on a couch. The warm tones in the underpainting (done in acrylics) were chosen to evoke a sense of nostalgia and intimacy, like a cherished memory. merge into expressive color fields. The combination of abstract planes and figurative hints creates both openness and familiarity, inviting the viewer to linger between recognition and imagination.
