A full moon stares down on Adam, bathing him in its bright light, while he looks transfixed at a range of hills in front of him. He is perched on a ledge overlooking a small valley. This Adam is stocky and middle-aged, not the generally accepted representation... but he is nude. Eve is there, but You may have to look closely. Eve is not obvious to many viewers.…
The smiling full moon, dominates the upper end of the picture, as does the night sky, peppered with stars.

I, Stephen Alpe, a self-taught watercolourist, started painting in watercolours back in 1986. Impressed by the artwork in ornithological books illustrated by artits such as David Reid-Henry. I strived to achieve the same level of excellence, but, where as, Reid Henry made it look like the subjects were about to fly off the page, my initial efforts looked like they had been carved out of stone!
I did, in time improve and was able to illustrate a few calendars and magazines.
On moving to the UK in 2007, I moved into painting landscapes and news items that caught my imagination. From 2012, I began to notice the works of the street artist Banksy. Other artists that I admire include Wassily Kadinski, Joan Miro and Pol Ledent.
