About this artwork
A large black circle enclosing a prison cell, with an inmate in it, dominates the picture. A strong orange background frames the circle . The idea for this picture came towards the end of the crazy lockdown period enforced on Britain's population. A big burly man grasps the bars of an a window looking out to what appears to be a country… scene. He is dressed in a high viz jacket and dark trousers, representing the workmen that were prevented from doing an honest day's work.
The bright light of freedom just penetrates the window sile and arms of the workman being kept in darkness.
The orange background has been upgraded to a much smoother wash.

I did, in time improve and was able to illustrate a few calendars and magazines.
On moving to the UK in 2007, I moved into painting landscapes and news items that caught my imagination. From 2012, I began to notice the works of the street artist Banksy. Other artists that I admire include Wassily Kadinski, Joan Miro and Pol Ledent.
