Oscar Wilde said that we seek to make our dreams come true and forget that nightmares are also dreams. Such terror causes the subconscious to take over once we acquire knowledge. Knowledge breeds demons. Once you understand the world from the other phases unknown to most, a portal to the abyss opens, and when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gazes into you. This, for me, is the structure of a nightmare that exposes… the fears of knowledge.

Sua Guerra, trained at the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts in Cuba, has worked in metal, wood, and marble sculpture, pyrography, drawing, and installations for over 20 years. He uses realist, surrealist, and hyperrealist techniques, influenced by magical realism, with remarkable virtuosity in detail and execution. His works explore philosophy, psychology, literature, and mythology, and convey profound emotions such as rebellion, human cruelty, and the confrontation between reality and the mask, generating an intense and cathartic experience of reflection in the viewer.
