About this artwork
In this work, I juxtapose intense fields of color. Deep petrol blue and dark blue form a calm, vertical structure, which is punctuated by powerful red. The warm yellow in the upper area opens up the space and brings light and spaciousness to the image.
Layering, superimposition, and visible traces create a vibrant texture. For me, it's about the tension between depth and luminosity, between stillness and energy.
The work moves between abstract… landscape and inner state – a horizon that carries both strength and stillness.

Sultana Savvi is a contemporary painter whose work explores the atmospheric and emotional presence of landscape. Moving between abstraction and memory, her paintings focus on horizon, space, and color as carriers of mood and perception. Working in layered processes, she creates quiet, open compositions that invite contemplation and personal interpretation.
Her work is influenced by still observation and transitional states between presence and distance. Through painting, she translates subtle inner experiences into color and spatial atmosphere.
Born in Greece, Savvi lives and works in Zurich, Switzerland. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Art Education from Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and a Master's degree from Zurich University of Teacher Education. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions over several years. Numerous works are held in private collections and institutions.
