“SYSTEM” is part of an ongoing series of text-based paintings in which language and color function as independent elements.
At first glance, the deep blue surface appears calm and self-contained. Yet the multi-layered, translucent glazes subtly shift depending on the light, perspective, and time of day. Through these thin layers of paint, the surface develops a quiet depth that oscillates between control and instability. Instead of dissolving into… a completely uniform field, the painting deliberately maintains a certain openness and material tension.
The word "SYSTEM" does not function as a fixed statement, but rather as a state that hovers between order, structure, and uncertainty. Text and image do not illustrate each other; instead, they create a space in which diverse interpretations can arise.
