About this artwork
This hanging wire sculpture is composed of long continuous teardrop shapes, some containing small orbs also made of knitted wire. Sue loves to experiment with her forms and see how she can push her creativity in playing with space, movement, and shape.
Both the exterior form and the interior orbs are made of hand knitted black copper wire, covered in black glitter and coated in resin.

Susan Freda is an exciting American sculptor who has exhibited her work nationally. Tending to find beauty in neglected areas, she explores themes such as the underdog, the subtle and the forgotten. She assembles objects in her studio to create her own materials before weaving them together to create ephemeral, intimate pieces inspired by fashion and nature. Freda's sculptures ultimately delve into experiences of our world - namely intimacy and emotion, and offers a space for their consideration.
