About this artwork
This grid artwork is comprised of 6 squares of 21x21cm each on 320g handmade cotton rag paper. The moody colour palette was chosen in response to the artist’s yearning for loved ones left behind when she was away from home for many months doing an Art Residency in Paris. The theme is picked up in the grid of squares, representative of each individual. Each square will be packed on top of each other with layers of tissue in between and shipped in… a small box. The collector can also choose to reconfigure the work in their own format depending on their response to each square.
« As a midwife in an earlier career, a mother and a fine artist, my art practice looks at notions and issues around ideas of birthing, life and death. »
