In this work, Euterpe is presented from a renewed perspective. The muse abandons her classical attire and adopts modern attire, bringing her closer to the contemporary viewer without losing her essence. Depicted from the waist up, she holds her instrument as a link to tradition, while her averted, serene gaze suggests that true music is heard within before it becomes sound.
The expressive brushwork, laden with contrasts of light and shadow, lends… an expressionist and poetic air. The restrained palette—violets, ochres, and soft tones—reinforces the intimate character of the work, distancing it from artifice and bringing it closer to a more real and human emotion.
