About this artwork
The vulture speaks to Daedalus, confronting him about his feelings towards Talos and pushing Daedalus to sacrifice the boy. The bird reappears after Daedalus and Icarus escape the Labyrinth. He calls Daedalus a murderer for killing Talos. Daedalus, full of rage and guilt, kills the bird and uses his feathers to build the wings for their escape.
A superlatively powerful painting. Texture, color and structure are deployed with force and sensitivity… to engender a seductive painterly synthesis comprising infinite tonal variations and abyssal layers beyond the picture plane. The balance between hard and soft, structural solidity and phosphorescence, photographic and abstract, renders the present work a remarkable exemplar of Debo’s abstract works. Each painting purchased comes with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity verifying that this is an original piece of art created by internationally collected artist, Sven DEBO Bode

« My art is my soul, pure and real! The process is intense and exhausting. »
Sven Bode, who also goes by the pseudonym DEBO, is a German painter who resides in the United States. He has exhibited in both countries, as well as in Israel, the United Kingdom, and Japan. A chance encounter with his Holiness the Dalai Lama changed the course of his artistic career many years ago, inspiring him to make a commitment to express his artistic message to the world. Bode uses a truly abstract approach in his compositions, sparking the fantasies of viewers.
