Sylvain Brault explores the fundamentals of art through painting and drawing, which he combines with photography, thread, and collage. He employs a variety of techniques, navigating between controlled chance, spontaneous gesture, and classical precision. His subjects are both abstract and figurative, often blurring the lines between the two.

His quest aims to capture the unique aesthetics that emanate from different aspects of life — living or inert nature. The mystery of chiaroscuro, the atmosphere of a landscape, the expression of a face, or the happy combination of forms, composition and color: this is what he strives to reveal and highlight.

He finds his motivation in the pleasure of execution and the hope of Beauty.

Trained by the Masters of the past and having faced the public gaze during group and solo exhibitions, he now works in series, pursuing an open research on new inspirations.
