About this artwork
This painting was inspired by a photograph of fashion model and actress Rosie Huntington.
The painting started out as a close up study in black and white, but later evolved in a more colourful version.
The general atmosphere during this crisis being so gloom, the addition of colour seemed a welcome addition.
The use of collage also adds to the surface interest of the work.
Various splashes of seemingly uncontrolled colour application demonstrates… the artist's need for freedom in a period of confinement.

Pursuing this early calling, Sylvia completed her university studies with a degree in fine arts, specializing in sculpture.
