"Biodiversity" | temporarily encountering each other | marching in step | temporarily losing their rhythm | going their own way | temporarily finding each other again | being different - a privilege (Poem: Tania Mairitsch-Korte)
Hair pictures have existed since the 19th century. These were usually created using human hair from people close to the artist. My work, "Biodiversity," consists of my own hair, mounted on Chinese paper. A poem I wrote myself… accompanies the illustration. On closer inspection, you'll discover found objects. Can you find them? The work is bound in an embroidery hoop, which could be displayed on the wall, a shelf, or a window.
Tania Mairitsch-Korte is a German artist and graduate designer who, since studying graphic design, has specialized in illustration and printmaking. Her work combines various printing techniques, such as etching and screen printing, with drawing to create flat shadows. Inspired by texts and poems, as well as operas, ballets, and mythological themes, her works convey a constant evolution, both in technique and in the expressiveness of her images.
