About this artwork
In this artwork, I passionately intertwine the complexity of the human experience with the infinity of the universe. The selected abstract and geometric forms, meticulously rendered on the canvas with acrylic paints, symbolize the dynamic, ever-changing labyrinth of life. Each segment and layer invites the viewer to explore the depths of their own thoughts and embark on a journey of self-discovery. It is not only a representation of external realities,… but also an invitation to explore the hidden layers of one's self.
The painter Tanja Guntrum invites the viewer to immerse themselves in the complexity of her works, to perceive and decipher the invisible behind the obvious. The flexible structures, which seem to be constantly in motion, always reveal a new aspect or thought and ultimately what makes us unique as people. In her multi-layered acrylic paintings, she uses a spatula and soft brush to create a dynamic contrast between hard lines and the background with its gentle transitions. In order not to get lost in the multidimensionality of the paintings, a metallic shimmer can often be found in them, which is intended to symbolize the aspect of universal hope.
