In my work I explore the dynamic interaction between form and emptiness. Perception arises in the tension between connected and yet separate, between sculptural and graphic painting, between structured strands and smooth ground. The painter Tanja Guntrum invites the viewer to immerse themselves in the complexity of her works, to perceive and decipher the invisible behind the obvious. The flexible structures, which seem to be constantly in motion, always reveal a new aspect or thought and ultimately what makes us unique as people. In her multi-layered acrylic paintings, she uses a spatula and soft brush to create a dynamic contrast between hard lines and the background with its gentle transitions. In order not to get lost in the multidimensionality of the paintings, a metallic shimmer can often be found in them, which is intended to symbolize the aspect of universal hope.
