About this artwork
In this textile work I deal with the theme of letting go. A unicorn that has lost its horn tells of a world without structure that is going crazy. The dystopian view of a future that cannot exist without love and togetherness. Playfully and with a smile, these observations on today's society are packaged in the drawings of a horse that embodies both wisdom and serenity in addition to its strength. By using different artistic techniques and symbolic languages from different cultures, works are created that build a bridge between people of different origins. After intensively studying classic glaze oil painting, Hirschfeld has developed her own abstract-figurative formal language that plays with geometric color harmonies. She also uses this in her textile works.
