About this artwork
During the lockdown, T. Hirschfeld was unable to continue working on her large-format oil paintings due to lack of time. A series of 40 small formats in oil was created. Every evening, when the family was looked after and the day-to-day work was done, one or more works were created during the night's rest. The majority has already been sold. The last 6 works are offered on Singulart.
In this series, too, T. Hirschfeld remains true to her "Culture… Mix" line. Elements from different cultures are studied, with women in the foreground. Each portrait exudes a special calm, or they show a wait-and-see attitude. It is as if the characters pause and look into the future with a careful and at the same time knowing look.
The picture format is 30x20 cm including a passepartout.

By using different artistic techniques and symbolic languages from different cultures, works are created that build a bridge between people of different origins. After intensively studying classic glaze oil painting, Hirschfeld has developed her own abstract-figurative formal language that plays with geometric color harmonies. She also uses this in her textile works.
