About this artwork
Embroidery ( Vyshyvanka) is a traditional Ukrainian shirt decorated with ornamental embroidery, which is an important element of national dress, a symbol of health, beauty, good fortune, ancestral memory and a talisman. It serves as a symbol of Ukrainian identity, cultural heritage, indomitability, and a modern symbol of strength that unites generations.
Embroidery in Ukraine was not only used on clothing, but also appeared on other textiles used… to decorate homes and which had symbolic meanings of protection and identity.
The author's presentation of the ornament in the Vyshyvanka painting is a reinterpretation of Ukrainian tradition and gives it a modern new form. The paintings become part of aesthetic interior design solutions, while retaining their deep symbolism. With Vyshyvanka, tradition becomes part of the present.
Each cell of the Vyshyvanka painting is drawn and laid out with super-thin slices of metal alloys - completely handmade. Not paint.
Tanya Golodynska is a Ukrainian artist whose works transform floral motifs into meditative explorations of emotions, presence, and inner energy. A graduate of the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts, she combines precision with freedom of painterly expression, creating large-format oil paintings that balance delicacy and power.
Tanya's compositions reveal the harmonious interaction of dynamic floral forms and multi-layered textures, with each brushstroke reflecting patience, concentration, and a personal dialogue with the canvas. Her works embody the quiet power, emotional depth, and lyrical beauty of nature, offering viewers the intimacy of contemplation.
In 2023, Tanya’s large-format painting "Full of Life" (oil on canvas, 150×100 cm) was presented at the London Art Biennale under the name Tetiana Rybina.
In 2024-25 – participants in numerous all-Ukrainian exhibitions.
