The artwork "Sunrise" is a tribute to the courageous Iranian people who risk their lives in the struggle against dictatorship, often facing execution and death in their pursuit of freedom. This piece encapsulates the duality of hope and despair, reflecting the complex realities of our time.
On one hand, the sunrise symbolizes hope and new beginnings. This positive aspect is beautifully expressed in the verse: "دل قوی دار ، سحر نزدیک است ..." ("Be… strong, sunrise is near"). This line evokes a sense of optimism, encouraging resilience in the face of adversity.
On the other hand, the sunrise also harbors a darker significance. It marks the time of day when the brutal regime carries out executions, a grim reality depicted through the imagery of blood rain, symbolizing loss and tragedy. The haunting verse, "نور را هنگامه سپیده دمان کشتند ..." ("They killed the light during the sunrise"), poignantly conveys the deep sorrow and injustice that overshadow these moments.
