About this artwork
I was overcome with the desire to express color and emotion of how special it is to walk your dog in the natural surroundings. I am lucky enough to live in New England and see deer trees and rolling hills on a daily basis. I used to have dogs growing up. I currently own a cat and bunnies. I wanted to express a connection between a people, animals, and the land. I wanted it to feel almost spiritual and intense color was my way to express that.…
Also I think the simple lines and shapes somehow express an idea instead of a specific person or place. I wanted to connect with the viewer who may feel that connection to nature when doing the most mundane act of walking their pet.
It is my hope that people enjoy the little special moments and life. This could be seen as a reminder to do that.
I worked with speed and with great heart. I hand to get what I felt out quickly before I lost the feeling. The paint has some texture. You can tell a human produced this in a unique way.
