This photograph is part of my series Art Through Touch, a project about how art is transmitted from one person to another through the body — through gesture, rhythm, and presence rather than words.
The series began with observing moments of learning, when knowledge is passed almost silently. In ballet this process is especially visible: movement is watched, repeated, and gradually absorbed by the body.
In this image, a young ballerina stands in… the doorway watching an experienced dancer rehearse. She is not yet part of the movement, but she is already learning through observation. This quiet moment represents the beginning of a journey — when inspiration first appears and a dream begins to take shape.
Through this work I reflect on the beauty of mentorship and the continuity of artistic knowledge, when art is passed from one generation to another through presence and attention.
