Work from portrait (Model). Ephemeral installation frozen on photo paper.
I stage the space with the material, the color and the natural light to accommodate the portrait of a printed model, on different papers according to the final choice sought and saturated, to keep very few details. Additional elements are added at this stage (direct painting, pigments, ash, plastic...) AND a combustion to finish, before the ephemeral whole is revealed and… finally immortalized by means of the photo

Thierry Parezys, trained at the Beaux-Arts de Dunkerque, is a visual photographer and conceptual artist who began his first works around fire and materials in the 1980s. His unique technique combines ephemeral installations, controlled combustion, pigments and photography printed on art paper, belonging to the materialist movement. Through his works, he expresses human duality in the face of doubt and resilience, inviting the viewer to feel the strength of refusing to give up and the intense beauty of persistence.
