In the image of children's drawings, this work is populated by mid-animal creatures that emerge from the depths of my subconscious. They arise as in a dream, or rather a sort of waking meditation where reason does not always have its place.

Thierry Virton is an experienced French painter who has exhibited his work nationally. He views painting as an extraordinary opportunity for emotional expression, and primarily draws on classical inspiration, though is also more recently influenced by neo-primitivist figuration and the Art Brut movement. His work is largely a representation of his own unconscious, saturated in intense colours and boasting a strong graphic quality.
