About this artwork
Artist Thomas Dellert got to know Basquiat in NY in 1980 and it was Jean Michel who got his framing idea with cross corners and ropes to attache the canvases from Thomas
who exhibited in the same block at St Marks Place where Jean Michel lived and he got the original frames from Thomas. These frames would later become his trade mark.
Jean-Michel Basquiat 1960 – 1988)was an American artist who rose to success during the 1980s as part of the… Neo-expressionism movement.
Basquiat first achieved fame as part of the graffiti duo SAMO, alongside Al Diaz, writing enigmatic epigrams in the cultural hotbed of Manhattan's Lower East Side during the late 1970s, where rap, punk, and street art coalesced into early hip-hop music culture.
All fine art photography and art prints can be ordered on museum canvas framed in hand built wood frames, or for a higher price on Aluminium and Plexiglas , international galley style.
