About this artwork
One of the artists that have inspired me through the years to the extent I added DELL-acroix ( Dellert of the Cross ) to my name with Double LL from my real name Dellert.
His painting of the Revolution and the Refugees on the raft has made a great impression on me.
Eugène Delacroix , more simply known as Eugène Delacroix 1798 - Paris 1863 ), was a French artist and painter , considered the leading exponent of his country's Romantic movement In… contrast to the neoclassical perfectionism of his main rival Ingres , Delacroix took the style of Rubens and the painters of the Venetian Renaissance as his inspiration , resulting in an emphasis on colour and movement rather than clarity of contours and carefully modelled form. Dramatic and romantic contents characterised the central themes of his artistic maturity and which led him to distance himself from the classical models of Greek and Roman art , but to travel to North Africa , in search of the exotic.
Thomas Dellert is an internationally renowned Swedish painter and photographer who has taken part in numerous solo exhibitions throughout the United States and several European nations. His works are featured in the permanent collections of the Holocaust Memorial Museum (Washington DC), Heinz, Mercedes Benz, Absolute Vodka and the Swedish Royal Family, to name a few. Combining satirical and historical elements, Dellert mixes painting, collage and graphic art to convey both the deep darkness and shining hope of humanity.
